For the last couple of weeks, we've been enjoying racing on our new indoor carpet track, easily one of the nicest in the country. The entire surface is Ozite carpet glued down to an extremely sturdy sub-floor. This provides an amazingly smooth surface, and consistent track conditions unlike anything we've seen before. Come on out and enjoy one of the finest indoor RC racing experiences you'll find anywhere.Oct 10th, 2009 (10:17 AM)Officer Nominations

This is a summary of what was talked about, and the results of votes taken. LEASE: We continue to be on the month to month lease as we have been since this time last year. I have had weekly correspondence with the landlords in hopes of securing something more permanent. At this time it is our first choice to have a long term lease in the old family dollar store, second choice, to have a long term lease in the current space, and third, stay month to month. I can only speculate that they feel it is in their best interest to keep us month to month. In regards to how this affects the repairs that are necessary to the floor underneath the carpet, we will wait until Sept 25th to see if there is any change in their intentions and move forward with something appropriate to the situation at that time. KEY FEES: The monthly fee for a Key will remain $100 per month. CLASSES: It was decided that we will run two “core” classes; 13.5 T2 Rubber and 1/12th Scale 13.5 Single cell. The minimum number of cars necessary to run a core class will be 3. All other classes (except Novice) will require 4 entries. The main reason for this is so that we will have track marshals for the following heats. As last year, there will be no minimum for novice; it will be the race director’s discretion as to how long a driver can remain in the novice class RACE DAYS: Sundays and Thursdays SERIES RACING: Alternating Mini-Series Races every four 4 weeks, best three of four. Twenty dollar entry fee for each mini-series (this is above and beyond any race fees, keys fees etc.), all the money collected will go back to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd by percentage, 50%, 30% and 20% respectively. RACE and PRACTICE FEES: Will remain the same as last year NON-RACE DAY USE: Key members on site will help to remind any non-key members present to pay the practice fees. We will all have to use good judgment here, certainly if the non-member is only there for ten minutes before all the Key members leave, we would not want to charge them for practice, etc. EXTRA ACTIVITIES: If anyone hears of Mall Shows, Car Shows, etc, that can bring us some exposure, we will bring it up at the drivers meeting, interested parties can get together and participate, the club will help with fliers, etc. PLACEMENT STICKERS will be available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the mains on each race day. It will be up to the drivers to get their stickers immediately following the race. Stickers will only be available for the day you place so make sure you pick them up. PIT SPACE: Reserved or permanent pit space will be limited to key members. Non key members can store a table and chair at the track in one of the back rooms if they do not want to haul those items back and forth. TRACK LAYOUTS: Every 4 to 6 weeks we will redo the track layouts. Many members have expressed interest in having more say in how the track is set up. It was agreed that a variety of layouts would be posted on the white board at the track, and members would vote for them (at the track) by writing their name under the one they like (only one vote). The layout with the most votes is the one we will use. Set up will be done by those who voted for it. A set number of days will be allowed to implement the new layout, if it is not changed by the end of that time period, the layout with the next number of votes will be used, also being set up by those who voted for it. END OF MEETING. Sep 5th, 2009 (7:15 PM) |
