If you were at the track last night, you know that there has been a change of plan in regards to our move.

At this time we are not moving, this may however change. With this in mind the following will still happen...

1. Racing Tuesday, June 30th
2. After Racing on Tuesday, June 30th, barriers will be removed from the track
3. Carpet will be cleaned on July 1st by a contractor
4. July 2nd, track repair and setup, racing possible if this all gets done.

If we end up staying in the current space, repair to the tile floor will be made and possibly re-orientation of the track by 90 degrees.

Announcements will be made as details unfold... please stay tuned.

Please be ready to pick up your equipment at the current track no later than July 1st.

On July 2nd (as per the meeting on 6/18) there will be no racing. The time will be spent moving items over to the new space. The more volunteers we have the less track downtime there will be during this transition.

We will talk more about the specifics on 6/23, 6/25 and 6/30

The CORRC carpet track will be closed for its move between July 1st and July 12th. There will be no interruption to the asphalt schedule during this time. Depending on how quickly we are able to make the transition, the carpet track may be reopened at the new location before July 12th. If you are a club member, please set some time aside between these two dates to help. We will talk more about this during next weeks race days.

A List of Things that need to be done (somewhat in order):

1. Any members that have been storing stuff and the current track that are not key members, please come buy and pickup your stuff sometime before July 1st. At the new location, reserved pit space will be available for key members only.


2. Move all the 8ft x 4ft wood pit tables over to the new location. We are asking people who own these tables to please donate them to the club. If you are a key member, you can keep your space, but we will have to pare down the space being used. We are planning for each racer to have a 2ft x 4ft space, or 4 racers per 4ft x 8ft wood table. Initially the tables will be lined up down the center of the pit room (pit row) with room for folding tables on the end if necessary.


3. Have an electrician come in and wire drops down the center of pit row. This will not be able to happen until we take possession of the space on July 1st.


4. Move all the barriers off the carpet. After July 1st they will need to be put somewhere out of the way in the new space while the carpet is laid.


5. Clean the carpet at the old location. After the barriers have been cleared off the track. Anyone with information on how and who is best to do this please let me know so that it can be coordinated.


6. Move the carpet to the new location after it's cleaned and dry. We will have to finalize our track size at this time and we should have decided by now how we are going to do the seams, and what we are doing in terms of taping the carpet to the floor, itself, etc.


7. Move the drivers' stand to the new location. After the carpet has been laid and secured.


8. Set up the track at the new location. Be thinking about what kind of a layout you want. Please keep in mind that there has been lots of discussion about setups in the past, and not everybody will be happy with the layout, but please do not be critical to those doing the work.


9. Race! The sooner we get all this done, the less interruption there will be to our schedule. Again, if you are a member of the club please set aside some time to help with the effort, it is a club track, and requires membership support.

subject to change based on input from members. Please see me at the track and let me know when /
where and how you are able to help with the move.

The surface of the outdoor track has been dragged to knock down sharp edges, and treated with black paint, both of which should dramatically improve traction and tire wear. The outdoor gallery has been updated with pictures of the improved surface. Check them out here.

On Wednesday, June 3rd at 5:00 PM; we will need help to change the layout of the outdoor track and to prep the racing surface.

The will need plenty of help for this effort. Please be there if you can.

Last week we signed the lease for the old Family Dollar Store. This is a huge milestone for the club. All the hard work, dedication and participation, from everyone involved since the beginning of October 2008 has paid off. We now have a permanent indoor carpet track and dedicated outdoor space for summer racing. There have certainly been some bumps along the way, but when the day is done, we have accomplished what many others have only dreamed of… A Permanent Race Facility; Organized, Paid For, and Managed by, On Road Racers!! Congratulations to Everyone!

We will take possession of the new space on July 1st, 2009. Between now and then, we will put together a game plan for the move, and discuss the available options for track layout and pit area. Date for a meeting will be announced soon; please plan to attend if possible.

I look forward to a successful outdoor season, being able to race carpet over the summer, and the upcoming winter indoor season.

Also, although there will be no racing this Sunday (Mother's Day), Jim Hiller is considering opening the track for practice (normal fees will apply). If you'd like to come out, head over to RCTech and let us know in the forum. The track will not be prepared, and there will be no scoring.

Sunday opens the outdoor pavement season.

The track will open at 8:00 AM. ALL Nitro vehicles must not be started until 10:00 AM. This includes in the pit area.

The 1/10 Modified Electric class will be rubber tires.

Unless a part of the class rules, there will be no spec tire.

We will run ANY class that has a minimum of 3 entries.

SETUP - We will be at the track this Saturday at 2:00 PM to get the track ready for racing on Sunday. If you plan on running on Saturday, come on out and help us get prepared for a great summer season.
